Services
🌱 How do I help you?
The first thing to say is that I do not provide investment advice through Planet Positive Planning.
Instead, I provide impartial guidance. No product sales. No conflicts. No hidden agendas.
In practical terms, this is how it works.
- I assess impartially whether your wealth is on track to meet your life goals.
- I provide you with a structured framework and process to help you make decisions.
- I talk through the pros and cons, and the risks and opportunities, of different options.
- I guide you through career, income and business planning as part of your strategy.
- I provide a second expert opinion as a trusted financial expert.
- I provide human wisdom that complements output from AI-powered tools.
- I provide you with a written, personalised report to bring everything together.
In short, I help you to make your own decisions. I do not make decisions for you.

How can you trust my services?
What I am, and what I’m not. Planet Positive Planning is not FCA regulated, and does not need to be. Regulated advice means recommending a particular investment or product, and I don’t do that. What I offer is education and coaching, which sits outside that boundary. I would rather tell you exactly where the line is than leave it vague.
What you can check. I am a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and bound by the Actuarial Code, which requires me to maintain high ethical standards in all my actuarial work. I also appear on the FCA Register as Chief Executive of Milliman Financial Strategies Ltd, an FCA-regulated investment risk manager. That is my part-time institutional role, and it is separate from this practice. Both records are public — you can look me up on the Actuaries Register and on the FCA Register.
How I am paid. A fixed fee. No commission, no percentage of your money, no product sales. If the right answer is to do nothing, it costs me nothing to say so.
Five questions worth asking. Not just of me — of anyone who offers you financial help, now or in the future.
You First,
£££ Second
- Your life, your goals, your values are the starting point – not your bank balance.
- Find someone who sees you as the client, not just your assets.
Then Money Plan
- Forget chasing returns. What really matters to you? Relationships? Passions? Impact?
- The right plan starts there, then reverse-engineers the money piece.
- Your pension is one part of it. What you can still earn is another, and so is the home you own. For most people all three are significant.
- Ask whether all of it is in the picture, or only the part someone can charge you a percentage on.
- A bigger number is not automatically a better plan. More can mean working longer than you wanted, or carrying more risk than you need.
- Ask whether the plan is built to make the number as large as possible, or to make your life hold up whatever happens.
Not Sales
- This is crucial: the person giving guidance (or advice) cannot sell products or take commissions (or fees based on the amount you invest).
- They must sit on your side of the table, not a product provider’s.
What are my services?
The Planet Positive Financial Future MOT:
What does this achieve? It helps you understand in detail where you currently are.
You’d get an MOT for your car. You might even book a health check as you hit mid-life. Yet what about an MOT for your future life and how you’ll finance it?
The Planet Positive Financial Future MOT gives you a clear view of your current financial strength, readiness for the future, earning potential, and how your choices align with a healthier planet. It’s reviewed by me, as a qualified actuary, not a robot. We can have a call afterwards to discuss your results too.

It includes the following steps:
- You block out some time to devote to this, and collate all relevant information.
- You spend up to 1 hour filling out a questionnaire and uploading your information.
- I compile and send you your report, including the following sections:
- Headline scores, what’s going well, what you could improve on
- Short-term financial resilience, and long-term wealth snapshot
- Your personal and planetary timelines, intertwined
- Financial readiness for your “golden years” in later life
- Actions to consider going forward
- We have a 45-minute follow-up call to discuss your results.
Why is this different?
- This service assesses both your wealth now, but also your readiness for the future.
- Your future readiness depends on your view of the future. I allow for a view of the future that accounts for our climate crisis.
- I look at your entire wealth picture. This includes not just financial capital, but also property and human capital, to understand your full potential.
- I take into account the potential for you to have a positive planetary impact.
- You get to understand where your personal timelines sit relative to planetary ones. Your view of your future life priorities may change as a result.
- This is compiled and reviewed by a human expert. Not just output by a robot.

The Planet Positive GAME Plan
What does this achieve? It turns a picture of where you are into a plan you made yourself.
It is based on a life and financial planning framework called the GAME Plan. This was originally developed by the Academy of Life Planning.
This framework has won multiple awards and accolades. It has been used by the members of the Academy to achieve transformational life change for many of their clients.

How is this service delivered?
We can work at a pace or frequency that suits your needs:
- Weekly coaching sessions over 3 months: For those looking to achieve results quickly.
- Fortnightly coaching sessions over 6 months: For those wanting to take a more reflective approach.
- Monthly coaching sessions over 12 months: For those wanting to also include broader coaching on getting their monthly finances back on track.
- We work through the same structured framework, exercises and materials in each case. Working together also requires a commitment to do your homework in between sessions to get the most out of this.
- Alternatively, a “self-driven” package, where you receive the same framework, exercises and materials to work through independently at your own pace, and we have a single scheduled call to discuss your output at the end. There is also the option to request and pay for additional coaching calls, as and when needed.
Thereafter I offer an “Ongoing Support” package, which includes an annual refresh of your Planet Positive Financial Future MOT, including an annual review call, as well as email support. Financial planning app access can also be included.
What you’ll have at the end.
- A plan you wrote, in your words, with the reasoning behind it.
- A complete picture of what you own — savings, pension, earning power, property.
- A climate stress test across all of it, not just the investments.
- A clear view of what your money is currently funding.
- A record of what you decided and why, so when life changes you adjust rather than start again.
